The O&M Technical Officer is responsible for the hands-on execution of operations and maintenance activities across IBL Energy’s portfolio, including solar PV plants, EV charging infrastructure, and other energy systems.
The role is primarily site-based, supporting inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring to ensure assets operate safely, efficiently, and at optimal performance levels.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Inspections
- Conduct routine inspections of PV systems, EV chargers, and associated equipment
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to maintenance schedules
- Ensure proper housekeeping and site conditions
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform corrective maintenance and repair of faulty equipment
- Diagnose system issues
- Replace defective components and support equipment restoration
- Liaise with suppliers/manufacturers for technical troubleshooting
Performance Monitoring
- Collect and record operational data (energy, power, alarms, weather data)
- Support performance monitoring and identify abnormalities
- Assist in improving system performance and reducing downtime
Maintenance Execution Support
- Support the O&M Executive in planning and executing maintenance activities
- Coordinate with contractors and technicians onsite
- Ensure tasks are completed within timelines and quality standards
Stakeholder & Site Coordination
- Interface with contractors, suppliers, and site stakeholders
- Support site visits, inspections, and audits
- Escalate technical issues to O&M Executive
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and incidents
- Complete maintenance reports and update logs (CMMS when implemented)
- Support preparation of performance and maintenance reports.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify recurring faults and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to lessons learned and process improvements
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow and enforce all HSE procedures on site
- Participate in safety inductions and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related fields
- Minimum 2 – 4 years’ experience in O&M (PV/energy systems preferred)
- Experience in solar PV systems and/or BESS / EV infrastructure
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Hands-on troubleshooting and repair capability
- Experience in site supervision and coordination of O&M works
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple sites simultaneously
- Willingness to work onsite and travel across locations
- Valid driving license
