We’re seeking a driven, resourceful General Manager/COO to lead our Mauritius presence. As our first hire, you’ll act as the “founder on the ground,” owning growth, partnerships, and execution—both strategist and hands-on operator in a high-impact, lean environment.

 

 

The Role

We are seeking a highly driven, radically resourceful General Manager / COO to lead our market presence in Mauritius. As our first and primary business hire on the island, you will act as the "founder on the ground."

This is a true ground-floor opportunity. You will own the complete commercial ecosystem of Pass Prive, from aggressively acquiring top-tier merchant partners to managing their success and ensuring we crush our revenue numbers. Because we are operating with limited resources, this role requires someone who is entirely willing to get their hands dirty. You will be the strategist designing the roadmap and the foot soldier executing it.

 

What You’ll Do


  • Aggressive Business Development: Identify, pitch, and close partnerships with the most sought-after restaurants, clubs, bars, and event organizers in Mauritius. You are responsible for building the app's foundational supply.
  • Scrappy Execution: Operate effectively in a resource-constrained environment. You won't have a massive support team to lean on from day one; you will need to hack growth, troubleshoot operational bottlenecks personally, and figure things out on the fly.
  • Account Management & Retention: Serve as the strategic partner for all our merchants. Onboard them, train their staff, ensure seamless operational integration, and continually demonstrate the value Pass Prive brings to their bottom line.
  • Revenue & Metric Ownership: Own the P&L for the Mauritian market. Drive Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), meet ambitious revenue targets, and obsessively track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strategic Market Operations: Act as the critical feedback loop between the local market and our technical team. Translate merchant pain points and user feedback into actionable product features.

 

Who You Are

  • Scrappy & Hands-On: You thrive in a resource-light startup environment. You are just as comfortable pitching a high-level vision to a restaurant group CEO as you are personally handing out flyers or troubleshooting a venue's app issue late on a Friday night.
  • Experience: 5+ years of high-performance experience in business development, B2B sales, or operational leadership. Experience in tech startups, hospitality, or food delivery/lifestyle aggregators is a massive plus.
  • Local Network: Deep knowledge of the Mauritian F&B, nightlife, and entertainment landscape, ideally coming with an existing black book of venue owners, managers, and hospitality groups.
  • Builder Mentality: You are deeply self-motivated and comfortable operating with high autonomy. You don't need a playbook; you write the playbook.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Flawless negotiation, pitching, and relationship-building skills. You must be able to sell a vision as well as a product. (Fluency in English and French/Creole is required).
