The objective is to assist Novaterra in adopting sustainability practices to manage its energy resources, reduce waste, enhance its image, increase revenue, and collaborate with HSEQ to align sustainability and responsible operations.

Main responsibilities:

To understand and evaluate the sustainability impact and assess the commitment and performance across key impact areas. It will support the creation and promotion of Novaterra’s activities and tools to transform the company and achieve radical sustainability improvements.

  • Evaluate the company’s current strategies and processes to identify areas for sustainability improvements.
  • Lead the implementation of Novaterra’s Sustainability Roadmap 2030. The role will deliver activities that provide the tools and guidance needed to significantly improve the sustainability of the built environment. This will involve engaging internal members and other stakeholders on Novaterra’s activities, conducting research, producing outputs, and supporting related research on regulatory monitoring and compliance readiness.
  • Identify environmental projects aligned with Novaterra’s business, coordinate and administer business transformation activities (workshops, meetings, projects, etc.) for members in line with Novaterra’s long-term strategy and annual operating plan.
  •  Conduct desktop research, analyse findings, and prepare ESG reports, sustainability dashboards, KPI reporting, and investor-ready sustainability material (e.g., case studies, blogs, reports, etc.) and contribute to effective ways of storing and sharing the findings across members of Novaterra, the group, and beyond.
  • Engage with authorities, consultants, contractors, tenants, and community stakeholders to ensure that sustainability commitments are delivered and communicated accurately.
  • Develop and implement innovative process improvements that align with Novaterra’s sustainability objectives and enhance operational productivity and cost efficiency. Keep up to date with areas of expertise and serve as a point of reference for them within Novaterra.
  • Analyse and track government policy positions across key topics of waste, resources, and embodied carbon.
  • Support SEA/EIA sustainability input and commitment tracking.
  • Drive certifications (EDGE, Green Star, etc.) where applicable.
  • Ensure alignment with relevant ESG frameworks (GRI/ISSB/CRSD, where relevant to the Group).
  • Prepare for and attend meetings with government officials and other key stakeholder.
  • Develop robust reporting and data-collection tools to assess Novaterra’s progress on sustainability-related topics, ensuring the company stays on track and achieves its KPIs. Provide input on engagement with regulators and authorities, and on workshops.
  • Contribute to responses to consultations where relevant to the business.
  • Research the latest trends, practices and news related to sustainability.
  • Educate employees, tenants and other stakeholders on environmental challenges and ways they can practise sustainability, such as recycling, circularity or minimising their energy use.

 Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a sustainability or built environment subject.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the built environment and/or sustainability sector.
  • Significant experience in carbon accounting methodology and baselines, CAPEX/OPEX sustainability business cases, waste diversion rates and circular procurement, energy performance tracking, renewable integration and net-zero pathway.
  • Strong understanding of corporate sustainability and good technical understanding of sustainability in the built environment.
  • Experienced in gathering, analysing, and interpreting sustainability data, performing carbon footprint calculations (Scopes 1–3), and leading iterative improvements to double materiality assessments to strengthen sustainability disclosures and performance tracking.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formula creation, and the use of advanced functions to support reporting and decision-making.
