Head of Digital Transformation

The role combines strategic transformation leadership with oversight of IT-enabled change, ensuring that systems, digital platforms and emerging technologies are effectively leveraged to improve performance, decision-making and organisational agility.

 

Key/Primary Responsibilities:

Enterprise Transformation & Strategy

 

  • Define and execute the company’s transformation roadmap, integrating business, digital, and technology priorities. Implementation of a 3-year digitalisation roadmap (WMS Warehouse Management System implementation, PLM – Product Lifecycle Management, SALES CRM, Manufacturing Module, AI coded tooling)
  • Translate corporate strategy into transformation initiatives supported by enabling technologies and data-driven insights.
  • Identify and prioritise high-impact transformation opportunities, including automation, AI, process redesign, and new digital capabilities.
  • Ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable business value and sustainable change.
  • Act as a catalyst for change, embedding a continuous improvement and performance-driven culture across the organisation.
  • Infuse and implement a Data Driven Strategy.
  • Ideally can still jump on code & implementation and drive project forward if need be.

IT, Digital & Systems Transformation

  • Lead the organisation’s IT and digital landscape to ensure alignment with business and transformation objectives including:
    • -Define and execute the IT and digital transformation roadmap.
    • -Ensure effective governance of core systems (ERP, WMS, HRIS, Finance systems, BI tools, etc.).
    • -Drive system optimisation, integration, and scalability.
  • Manage major IT-enabled transformation projects, ensuring delivery on scope, budget, timeline, and benefits.
  • Promote strong IT governance, cybersecurity awareness, data integrity, and system resilience.

Data, Analytics & Artificial Intelligence

  • Accelerate AI integration and implementation across the company.
  • Lead the development of a data-driven organisation by strengthening analytics, reporting, and performance dashboards.
  • Promote the use of AI and automation solutions to:
    • -Improve operational efficiency and productivity.
    • -Enhance forecasting, planning, and decision-making.
    • -Optimise supply chain, operations, maintenance, and commercial performance.
  • Identify and sponsor AI use cases aligned with business priorities while ensuring ethical, secure, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and business teams to improve data quality, data governance, and data accessibility.

Process Optimisation & Automation

  • Lead end-to-end process reviews across functions to identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, and automation.
  • Implement digital workflows, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), and system-driven controls to reduce manual work and errors.
  • Ensure process changes are embedded into systems and supported by clear ownership and KPIs.

Change Management & Digital Adoption

  • Drive change management for all transformation and IT-enabled initiatives to ensure adoption and behavioural change.
  • Work with HR and leadership teams to:
    • -Build digital and analytical capabilities across the organisation.
    • -Upskill leaders and teams to work effectively with new systems and AI tools.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technology-enabled performance.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Establish robust governance for transformation, IT, and digital initiatives, including prioritisation, funding, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure alignment with internal controls, data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor risks associated with technology change, data usage, and AI implementation, and implement mitigation measures.

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 10 years in services including Steering in large organisations.
  • Deep knowledge of core business systems (ERP) preferably Oracle Cloud ERP / Fusion, digital platforms, cybersecurity, cloud computing.
  • Allergy to leaving project stale, is ready to do the extra mile.
  • Extensive experience in building and managing digital applications including mobile and web apps.
  • Track record of successfully leading complex IT projects and programs including digital transformations and business system re-platforming including data migrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Science, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Strong Understanding of Business Processes Management.
  • Technical excellence to drive the IT and Software Team to excel and follow best practices.
