Summary of Role

The Payroll Systems Support Data Analyst is responsible for supporting and maintaining the payroll systems used within Global Payroll Outsourcing. The role will support both Payroll Implementation and Service Delivery teams by managing system configurations, resolving system-related queries, and ensuring payroll systems operate efficiently. The analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders and the Global Payroll Systems Support Team to ensure the payroll platform meets business and client requirements.

 

Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Support payroll system implementations and configurations for new and existing clients.
  • Manage and maintain payroll system setups in line with implementation and service delivery requirements.
  • Maintain and update payroll system, reports and configurations as required.
  • Provide first-level support for payroll system queries raised by internal teams.
  • Identify, log, and track payroll system issues and queries.
  • Analyse system issues and determine whether they relate to defects or enhancement requests.
  • Escalate system issues and risks to relevant stakeholders where required.
  • Support change management activities relating to payroll system updates and enhancements.
  • Ensure adequate specifications are provided for system change requests.
  • Assist with system testing and validation following updates or releases.
  • Maintain and update system documentation and process guidelines.
  • Deliver payroll system training and knowledge-sharing sessions to payroll teams.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Adhere to Risk, Compliance, GDPR, and Data Protection requirements.
  • Deliver ad-hoc tasks related to payroll systems support.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Work Experience

  • Minimum Diploma level qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in relevant field.
  • Experience in payroll operations, payroll systems support, or payroll data management will be an advantage.
  • Experience supporting payroll implementations, system configurations, or payroll reporting in a global payroll environment will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with payroll data, reports, and system-driven outputs will be an advantage.
  • Experience using advanced Excel for payroll data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting will be a definite advantage.
  • Exposure to data extraction or querying tools such as SQL or similar reporting tools will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to data visualisation or reporting tools such as Power BI will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with international clients or global payroll teams will be a definite advantage.

Skills

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written (English).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with payroll systems and data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and validate payroll data and reports.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, data validation, reconciliations).
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL or similar data querying tools will be an advantage.
  • Ability to use data visualisation tools such as Power BI to support reporting and analysis.
  • Good problem-solving skills related to system, data, and reporting issues.
  • Good technical aptitude and ability to understand payroll systems and data flows.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Important

  • Willingness and ability to cover UK hours (12:00 to 20:30 Summer UK season)
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
