FairStone Ltd is looking for a Junior Cost Controller for its construction site located in Cap Malheureux.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Compute quantities from approved drawings and from site.
  • Assist and prepare with valuation of works in progress / variations works / buyers change and final accounts.
  • Assist with cost planning, cost reporting, and forecasting.
  • Attend site meetings and site visits as and when required.
  • Control and monitor project progress, cost and wastage.
  • Carry out site visits, surveys, assessments, physical measurement of works executed by subcontractors and/or internal workers including photographic reports.
  • Follow up on the data input from daily allocation & returns sheets.Issue agreeable payment certificate as per internal workflow procedures.
  • Prepare and compile tender documents, inclusive of instructions to tenderers and preliminaries and general requirements for Request for Quotation.
  • To assist Cost Controller or Cost Control Manager to evaluate and negotiate tenders with subcontractors.
  • Visit construction sites to verify progress, monitor subcontractor works, ensure compliance with specifications and preparation of subcontractors Interim Payment Certificates with all the relevant documents attached such as take off sheets, sign off sheets with approved signatures and relevant required documents from subcontractors.
  • Assist Cost Controller or Cost Control Manager to prepare valuations/cost projections of the assignment to meet requirements of works in progress.
  • Assist Cost Controller or Cost Control Manager to perform cost analysis and draw up reports on changes to works such as buyers change and variation works.
  • Procurement: advise on procurement strategy, review quotations, negotiate with subcontractors, and ensure timely and compliant procurement.
  • To reconcile closing stocks of materials on site.
  • Ensure compliance with the highest safety standards.
  • Any other duties related to post.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience.
  • IT literate with good command of MS Office Package
  • Knowledge on Buildsmart software will be an advantage.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and work progression.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problems solving skills.
  • Good financial and numeracy management skills.
  • Clear understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines.
  • Exposure to multiple environments (industrial, M&E, civil works) will be an advantage.

  • It is highly preferable that the candidate lives in the northern part of the Island.
