The Trainee - Risk will provide support to the team by delivering tasks such as compiling papers which have already been reviewed for internal committees under the purview of the Risk Management Department.

 

The Trainee - Risk will provide support to the team by delivering tasks such as compiling papers which have already been reviewed for internal committees under the purview of the Risk Management Department, inputting data on excel and consolidating comments received from stakeholders. This position is on contractual basis for 11 months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Trainee - Risk will provide support to the team by delivering tasks such as:

  • Assist the Risk Analyst for consolidating and coordinating with Stakeholders for the Committees.
  • Follow up and monitoring on various tasks allocated to stakeholders to ensure timely actions have been taken for matters discussed in various committees and meetings.
  • Input, update, and maintain risk‑related information in Excel templates and the operational risk management system.
  • Consolidate comments received from stakeholders and ensure consistency and accuracy before submission for review.
  • Track risk recommendations, open items, control gaps, and due dates to ensure ongoing monitoring and timely escalation of delays or irregularities to the Risk Analyst.
  • Attend to administrative tasks within the department.
  • Assist in other deliverables to enable the Team to deliver on projects and important milestones.
  • Keep a track on all deadlines with regard to open items from various reports and report to Risk Analyst for detection of any irregularity.
  • Assist the Risk Analyst in performing risk assessment exercises.
  • Support the execution of departmental projects and milestones, including initiatives related to risk awareness, reporting enhancements, and process improvement.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department related to the implementation of the Department’s work plan.

PREREQUISITES:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or Risk Management from a recognized institution OR An alternative qualification from a recognized university in a field of study relevant to the scope of work, acceptable to the Bank.

SKILLS:

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with good working attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, filtering, and basic data interpretation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and handle data responsibly.
  • Basic understanding of risk concepts (operational risk, enterprise risk, controls, compliance) is an advantage.
  • Team player with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
