Room Attendant

Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and baths under supervision of housekeeping supervisor. Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, and friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all relevant information concerning arriving guests.
  • Enters and prepares the room for cleaning.
  • Makes bed.
  • Dusts the room and furniture.
  • Replenishes guestroom and bath supplies.
  • Cleans the bathroom.
  • Cleans the closet.
  • Vacuums and racks the carpet.
  • Checks and secures the rooms.
  • Replenish amenities according to the operational standards.
  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required
  • Responsible for replenishment of guest complimentary water.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and maintance of his work area.
  • Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the area assigned to him.
  • Provides turndown services as per requirement.
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score.
  • Inform Superiors about any damage or theft, loss to hotel property
  • Inspect for cleanliness, proper amenities and maintenance defects
  • Report all lost and found articles immediately to the immediate superior
  • Pantries and trolleys should be keep clean and tidy
  • Deal with all guests’ queries and complaints swiftly and efficiently.
  • Ensure all the information they require in order to provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Ensure all activity assigned is completed as per schedule and deadlines and as per priority assigned to the job. Multi-tasking to ensure several activities is balanced.
  • Adhere to fire alarm or any emergency statutory procedures in the event of fire.
  • Handle guest/ customer calls received at the department and record all messages / reservation requests/ queries and assign to appropriate housekeeping team member. Take responsibility to ensure action is taken wherever possible.
  • Conduct his/her duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the hotel’s policies and procedures, brand standards and code of conduct, ensuring that a high level of service is maintained.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: SC or HSC
  • Experience: Client’s oriented experience and 1 year in the above position
  • Personal Qualities: Organisational Skills, Planning and good communication
