The Job incumbent shall be responsible to assist the Group Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at all times in ensuring the proper running of the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities
Review and prepare monthly management accounts, consolidate reports, and analyse profit & loss and balance sheets.
Ensure accuracy of financial records, daily data capture, and reconciliations.
Implement and monitor internal financial controls including production costing, stock controls, and IFRS compliance.
Manage cash flow, treasury operations, FOREX planning, and timely payment of bills.
Oversee invoice processing, VAT returns, statutory accounts, and compliance with corporate rules.
Optimise financial information systems (SAGE)
Coordinate IT-related activities including hardware/software infrastructure, security, backups, and electronic archiving systems.
Conduct financial project analysis, modelling, ROI, and profitability assessments to support strategic decisions.
Supervise and mentor finance staff, enforce discipline, and support training and succession planning.
Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) procedures.
Candidate Profile
Higher School Certificate with Accounting as a principal subject.
Degree in Accounting & Finance and fully qualified accountant status.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Accountant in a dynamic business environment.
Strong IT skills with knowledge in ERP Systems (Sage will be a definite advantage) and office tools
Good interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
