Laboratory technician - Food Chemistry
The primary responsibility of a Laboratory Technician is to perform test analysis and adhere to laboratory processes while ensuring compliance to ISO/IEC 17025, Group Policies & Guidelines, Health and Safety, HSMS and Customer requirements.
Business Responsibilities :
- Perform test and any assigned tasks related to the test method.
- Perform sample collection as and when required.
- Train team members to ensure that they have the required competence to perform the task assigned to them.
- Follow internal procedures, corporate guidelines and customer’s requirements.
- Maintain good laboratory practices and housekeeping of work area including drawers, shelves, fume hoods, storage facilities, equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is well maintained, in good operating conditions and calibrated as per defined requirements.
- Ensure effective use of laboratory consumables, maintain chemical inventory and ensure that reorder level is clearly defined.
- Ensure that all work performed are accurate and reliable.
- Ensure that testing requirements are fully met including application of correct methods / standards and applicable tolerance with respect to regulatory norms.
- Convey promptly all client queries to the Manager.
- Ensure that samples are disposed in accordance to contractual agreement.
- Ensure that all waste products and expired samples are disposed in accordance with regulations.
Profile :
- Degree in scientific field; preferably Chemistry or Nutritional Science
- A prior experience in laboratory environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of ISO / IEC 17025 & Laboratory techniques and Procedures will be a definite advantage
