Role Overview The Assistant Cook – Canteen assists the canteen kitchen team with food preparation, service, and cleanliness to ensure timely, hygienic, and well-organised staff meals
Assist in food preparation and basic cooking for daily staff meals.
Support serving of meals to staff in an orderly and professional manner.
Clean and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the canteen kitchen and service areas.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
Assist with proper storage and handling of food items.
Support waste management and recycling procedures.
Assist the Cook – Canteen during peak service periods.
Follow hotel grooming standards and professional conduct guidelines.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Cook – Canteen.
Basic kitchen experience is preferred.
Experience in a canteen or large-scale kitchen is an advantage.
Strong teamwork and cooperation skills.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
