he Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with regulations, and effective cost management.

 

Oversee all financial operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost control, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
• Produce accurate, timely financial statements, management reports, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and support department heads in business planning.
• Maintain robust internal controls to protect assets, ensure compliance and support risk management.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, capital expenditure control and FF&E approvals.
• Ensure adherence to corporate accounting standards, IFRS and all local regulatory requirements.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes and act as primary liaison for external audits.
• Oversee all tax compliance matters, including income tax, VAT and corporate tax.
• Administer insurance programmes and review contracts, leases and financial agreements.
• Supervise, train and develop the Finance team, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to procedures.
• Provide financial insights to the General Manager and Owning Company, including reporting for Board meetings.
• Oversee the contracts management tool for sales order processing, revenue control and forecasting.
• Support CSR initiatives and promote ethical, environmentally responsible practices across the department.

Candidate Profile

• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in the hospitality industry.
• Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong IFRS knowledge.
• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-entity hospitality environment.
• Strong technical expertise, including advanced Excel modelling and proficiency in finance systems such as Sage Evolution, Materials Control, Poster POS, Microsoft Office Suite and a PMS (preferably Cloudbeds).
• Proven ability to manage teams, enforce controls and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Excellent command of English; knowledge of an additional local language is an advantage.
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate independently and make sound decisions.
