Oversee daily financial operations of the company. Prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. Monitor cash flow, expenses, and cost control measures. Review and validate payments and invoices Implement and maintain internal financial controls.

 

Role Overview

The Finance Controller oversees the company’s overall financial health, ensures accurate accounting, and supports management with financial planning. The role involves supervising daily financial operations, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.

  • Oversee general ledger entries, reconciliations, and closing of accounts.

  • Review and verify all financial transactions for accuracy.

  • Maintain proper financial documentation and records.

Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Monitor daily cash flow and ensure sufficient funds for operations.

  • Manage bank accounts, payments, deposits, and reconciliations.

  • Oversee receivables, payables, and supplier/customer accounts.

Budgeting & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.

  • Conduct variance analysis and highlight financial risks or issues.

  • Provide financial insights to support management decisions.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations: VAT, PAYE, NPF/NSF, TDS, corporate tax.

  • Implement and enforce internal financial controls and procedures.

  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors.

Operational Support

  • Review and approve purchase orders, payment vouchers, and payroll.

  • Support management with cost analysis and financial planning.

  • Ensure accurate recording of assets, liabilities, and expenses.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise and guide junior accounting staff.

  • Ensure timely completion of accounting tasks and statutory deadlines.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and taxation.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel.

  • Good communication and team leadership skills.
