Our client is looking for an Assistant Financial Reporting Accountant.

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To perform all such duties and exercise all such powers in relation to the business of the company as may from time to time be vested in or assigned to you by the company with the main function/s of your job as follows, but not limited to:

a.                      The preparation and submission of monthly management accounts for the Group and Silo’s within the Group as required within the agreed time frames;

b.                      The preparation of both abbreviated and full statutory financial statements, in accordance with IFRS, for the Group, and subsidiary companies in the Group as required, within the agreed time frames;

c.                      The preparation of the Group and subsidiary Group statutory consolidations as required, within the agreed time frames.    

Your key performance indicators include the following, but are not limited to: 

a.     Financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and industry best practice, to ensure timeous accurate and reliable financial information;

b.     The design, implementation and enforcement of appropriate internal controls to manage financial reporting risk;

c.     Financial and management reporting to shareholders, directors, regulators and any other authorised parties on a regular basis in an appropriate manner;

d.     Management of relevant tax issues to comply with all legal requirements in the best possible manner;

e.     Management of budgetary and forecasting processes and analysis of variances thereto;

f.       Manage the day-to-day duties of staff reporting to this position;

g.     Assist the CFO in the management of auditing functions including statutory audits.

h.     To comply with Company policies, regulations and rules.

i.       Improving levels of service to staff and customers and enhancing internal operational efficiencies.

j.       Suitable and adequate documentation of all work performed.

k.     Ad-hoc projects as may be required from you by management from time to time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Partly qualified ACCA or BSC Finance or Accounting  

Working experience  3-4 years minimum

Sage/Caseware /Cognos knowledge would be a plus

Computer literate, with a good knowledge of Excel and Accounting.
