Thirsty Bistro is recruiting Order Takers for restaurant at Telfair Moka.

Role:

  • Guest Service

    • Greet guests courteously and take their food and beverage orders accurately.

    • Ensure guests’ special requests or dietary requirements are clearly communicated to the kitchen.

    • Provide menu recommendations or explain items when required.

    • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, referring to the supervisor when necessary.

  • Order Taking & Processing

    • Record orders accurately in the POS system or order pad.

    • Repeat orders to guests to confirm accuracy before sending to the kitchen or bar.

    • Coordinate closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.

    • Follow up on delayed orders and keep guests informed of any changes.

  • Coordination & Communication

    • Liaise effectively with the kitchen, bar, and serving team for smooth service operations.

    • Communicate clearly any order modifications, allergies, or special instructions.

    • Assist waiters in ensuring correct orders are served to the right tables.

  • Cashiering & Billing

    • Prepare bills accurately and present them to guests.

    • Handle cash, card, or room charge payments as per company procedures.

    • Ensure proper recording and balancing of transactions at the end of the shift.

  • Product Knowledge

    • Maintain good knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and portion sizes.

    • Stay updated on promotions, discounts, and new items to effectively upsell and enhance guest experience.

  • Cleanliness & Presentation

    • Keep the order station neat, tidy, and well-stocked at all times.

    • Follow hygiene and safety standards as per restaurant policies.

    • Ensure menus are clean, updated, and in good condition.

  • Teamwork & Other Duties

    • Support the service team during busy periods.

    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor or Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a restaurant environment
  • Holder of a valid Food handler’s certificate will be an advantage
  • Holder of a clean certificate of character
  • Available to work on a 45 hour/week 6 day shift system.
