This position involves monitoring of purchase orders in VWR SAP system, ensure diligent follow up on open items and drive it for a closure within agreed service levels.
This position involves monitoring of purchase orders in VWR SAP system, ensure diligent follow up on open items and drive it for a closure within agreed service levels. Communicate with suppliers and internal departments of VWR primarily via emails and phone calls on the order status and clarify any questions.
How you will thrive and create an impact:
- Manages vendors to ensure that procurement procedures are met on a daily basis
- Resolves all distribution center/goods inwards queries with regard to delivery/stock/POs as appropriate
- Generates purchase orders, runs PO reports and performing goods receipts using the SAP system
- Raises and executes purchase orders to process purchase items as and when required
- Purchase order administration – updates with confirmation dates and resends to supplier as required
- Ensures all vendor information is maintained and kept up to date including and not limited to supplier contact details, purchasing price information etc.
- Expedites open purchase orders
- Oversees all stock transactions
- Reviews open purchasing requisition before execution of purchasing orders to suppliers
- Deals with Intercompany plants when required (Germany, Belgium, UK & France)
- Running and checking back orders
- Liaising with the sales and customer service team to ensure all information regarding open purchase orders are communicated
- Monitors incoming shipments
- Liaise with freight forwarders for shipment arrangements
- In conjunction with team leader, takes ownership of individual KPIs as per Avantor PMP process
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Good organization skills
- Willingness to work in shifts as per business requirements
- Good decision-making skills
- Experience in ERP application (SAP) and Outlook is an added advantage
- Ability to learn Avantor terminology and to coordinate actions across various functions and drive results
