The Mechanical Workshop Supervisor will be responsible to oversee all company vehicles in terms of performance, maintenance and compliance to Road Traffic Act in a cost effective manner.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Workshop team to achieve targets and ensure regular maintenance on company vehicles in a timely manner.
  • Plan preventive maintenance/servicing on company vehicles to ensure they are kept in good working condition.
  • Inspect and perform repairs on transport related mechanic issues flagged by staffs as and when required.
  • Liaise and close follow up with external contractors for major repairs as and when required.
  • Ensure all company vehicles are properly registered as provided by law.
  • Plan renewal of insurance covers, motor vehicle licenses and fitness in a timely manner to ensure compliance to Road Traffic Act as amended.
  • Liaise with insurance company for processing of claims in case of accidents. Ensure all relevant documents are sent to insurance company in a timely manner to ease claim process.
  • Assist the Manager to prepare budget for maintenance, renewal of licenses and purchases of vehicles on a yearly basis.
  • Conduct inspections of vehicles, both interior and exterior to flag damage, defects and other safety hazards on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all vehicles are equipped with adequate safety items as per legal requirements.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to Fleet Management as and when required. 
  • Constant reporting to the Manager on all vehicle related issues encountered.
  • Perform any other cognate duties as may be assigned by Management.
PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum HSC Holder 
  • Atleast 3 years of experience in similar role 
  • Able to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Posess analytical mindset and quick problem solving skills.
  • Solid negotiation skills to successfully handle suppliers and contractors.
  • Sound knowledge of Road Traffic Act and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Well versed with Ms Office and Outlook.
  • Able to work odd hours as may be required.
