We are seeking to recruit Compliance Officer/Money Laundering Reporting Officer (‘MLRO’) who has advanced knowledge of the Payment Intermediary Industry including knowledge of AML framework in Mauritius.

 

We are seeking to recruit Compliance Officer/Money Laundering Reporting Officer (‘MLRO’) who has advanced knowledge of the Payment Intermediary Industry including knowledge of AML framework in Mauritius.

 

The duties and responsibilities involved are as follows:

 • To implement and ensure ongoing compliance of the financial institution with internal programmes, controls and procedures in accordance with the requirements of the FIAMLA and FIAML Regulations 2018.

• To manage the compliance regulatory framework, the engagement with the Financial Services Commission ("FSC") and the company’s licensing requirements.
•To undertake day-to-day oversight of the program for combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
• To oversee of monitoring process.
• To contribute to designing, implementing and maintaining internal compliance manuals, policies, procedures and systems for combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

• To undertake a review of all internal disclosures in the light of all available relevant information and determining whether or not such internal disclosures have substance and require an external disclosure to be made to the FIU.
• To maintain all related records.
• To liaise with the FIU and if required the Financial Services Commission (‘FSC’) and participating in any other third-party enquiries in relation to money laundering or terrorist financing prevention, detection, investigation or compliance.
•To review client transactions and agreements to ensure compliance with legislations, and regulations
• To provide reports and other information to senior management.
• To be aware of all obligations.
• To report suspicious transactions to the FIU using appropriate platform.
• To attend ML/TF trainings/ conferences and give in-house debrief and training.
• To deal with internal staff or any internal reporting matters.
•To prepare customer risk assessment for all clients of the financial institution
•To prepare business risk assessment for the financial institution
•To perform compliance checks
• To report to the Board including reporting of non-compliance, to the board.

Profile

•Have a minimum of 5-8 years’ compliance experience in the Financial Services Sector/the Global Business Sector/the Payment Intermediary Industry
•Degree holder in Law, Finance, Management, Compliance or other related disciplines
•Meets the requirements of MLRO
•Sound understanding of KYC procedures
• Conversant with applicable laws and regulations in the Global Business Industry
