YOUR ROLE: As a Front-End Trainer and Technical Coach, you will play an essential role in the development and enhancement of front-end skills among our software engineers in the Products department. You will deliver practical training, provide hands-on coaching, and foster continuous learning, enabling our engineers to rapidly mature their capabilities in modern front-end technologies and practices.


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training Development & Delivery:

  • Deliver structured and engaging front-end training sessions, both online and in-person, covering modern front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, and relevant UI/UX principles
  • Conduct training sessions tailored to both entry-level engineers and those with intermediate experience.

Coaching and Mentorship:

Provide individual and team coaching through code reviews, pair programming, and one-on-one sessions.

Guide engineers in best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, performance optimisation, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Material Development: Create, curate, and update training materials, including tutorials, guides, examples, and videos, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and company practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Agile Coaches, technical leads, and the Capability Manager to identify skill gaps and design training solutions that align with the strategic goals of SD Worx.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training and coaching initiatives, solicit feedback, and implement continuous improvements based on data-driven insights.

Innovation and Continuous Learning: Promote the use of advanced tools such as GitHub Copilot, AI-driven code assistants, and other innovative technologies to enhance front-end development practices.

Community Engagement : Foster a collaborative learning environment, encouraging knowledge sharing, networking, and active participation in community-building initiatives within the Products department.


KNOWLEDGE, TECHNICAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in front-end software development.
  • Solid experience with modern front-end technologies including Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering training, creating educational materials, or mentoring junior developers.
  • Strong understanding of front-end best practices, including accessibility, performance optimisation, and user experience principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively teach and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French is beneficial.

Preferred:

  • Experience using modern development tools such as GitHub Copilot or other AI-driven coding assistants.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX tools (e.g., Figma).
  • Experience in multinational or offshore team environments.

  • Act as our Customer advocate to resolve problems and develop our software and services.

  • Ability to leverage broad networks to influence, to negotiate or to mediate or to coach effectively to a win-win solution for complex themes and with senior level stakeholders from the customer environment or from SD Worx Group.
  • Stimulate the environment of open networks for expertise and knowledge sharing, inspiring and coaching others to become part of it and actively participate.
