Engaged in the continuous supply of locally refined and packed edible oils as well as a range of quality products, Mauritius Oil Refineries Ltd. (Moroil) is seeking for an IT Administrator to join its team.
JOB ADVERT – IT ADMINISTRATOR
Summary:
This role involves overseeing systems and applications, managing backups, ensuring security compliance, and providing support for business applications. It also involves working closely with a dedicated IT Support Officer who will handle hardware troubleshooting, while external service providers manage network configuration and server interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain all computer hardware, software, operating systems, networks, telephone servers, and video conferencing equipment.
- Monitor system performance and network health, ensuring the reliability and availability of all critical IT infrastructure.
- Manage system backups and recovery processes, perform regular system updates, and oversee SQL database administration tasks.
- Administer the company's ERP system, including process analysis, design, issue resolution, and report development.
- Handle the replacement of hardware and parts as required, managing the full lifecycle of IT assets from setup to repair and disposal.
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Manage the IT Service Desk system, responding to service incidents and requests within agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Set up new user accounts and profiles, manage group policies and permissions, and ensure appropriate access control.
- Assist in the rollout and support of new applications and provide basic software training to empower end-users.
- Implement and enforce IT and Information Security (IS) policies to ensure the integrity and protection of company data.
- Monitor and manage malware protection systems, and apply necessary security patches and Windows updates promptly.
- Assist in internal and external IT audits, providing necessary documentation and status reports.
- Manage IT purchasing and assist in budget preparation and tracking.
- Provide regular weekly IT status updates to management.
- Perform any other cognate duties as assigned to support the IT department's objectives.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking principles, and IT infrastructure.
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server and desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
- Solid understanding of database management, specifically with SQL Server.
- Experience managing and supporting an ERP system is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI or Crystal Reports would be a significant advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of [e.g., 3-5 years] of proven experience in an IT administration, system administration, or similar role.
- Equivalent qualifications or extensive practical experience will also be considered.
