Job Summary Ocean’s Creek Hotel is seeking a passionate and experienced Bar Manager to lead and elevate our bar operations. You will oversee all aspects of bar service, ensuring top-tier guest experiences, staff excellence, and strong financial performance.
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring consistency and quality in service and product presentation.
Ensure bar setup and breakdown procedures are followed correctly.
Monitor bar cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards as per hotel and legal requirements.
Ensure the bar operates in full compliance with licensing laws and hotel policies.
Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for smooth operation and event planning.
Ensure guests are greeted warmly and served promptly and professionally.
Handle guest complaints or special requests efficiently and with a customer-first approach.
Build rapport with repeat guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Collect and act on guest feedback to improve service delivery.
Recruit, train, and onboard new bar staff.
Develop and maintain staff performance through coaching, mentoring, and regular appraisals.
Create shift schedules in line with business levels and labor guidelines.
Foster a positive team culture rooted in accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.
Monitor and maintain par levels of beverages, bar supplies, and operating equipment.
Ensure accurate stock counts, proper rotation, and minimal wastage.
Receive and inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy.
Ensure all beverages follow standardized recipes and costings.
Drive beverage sales through promotions, upselling, and engaging menus.
Support the F&B Manager in budgeting and cost management.
Track daily sales, wastage, and consumption reports.
Ensure proper cash handling, POS use, and reconciliation procedures.
Analyze financial and operational performance and suggest improvements.
Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and legal awareness (alcohol licensing, tobacco sales, etc.).
Complete required checklists and documentation (opening, closing, maintenance, audits).
Ensure accurate records for breakages, incidents, and lost & found.
Collaborate with HR on staff documentation, accidents/incidents, and team well-being.
Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar leadership role in hospitality.
Strong knowledge of bar service, mixology, inventory control, and guest engagement.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage a team effectively.
Understanding of budgeting, costing, and P&L statements is a plus.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
