SPARC is looking for a Kitchen Chef who will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen such as menu plans, operations, recipes, financial responsibility, portion and inventory control, food quality, and employee supervision.

 

 

Casela - Sport Center (SPARC) is looking for a Kitchen Chef who will ensure the smooth operations of the kitchen. Being in this role, you will be involved but not limited to:

Operational Work

  • Customize menu plans as per business requirements and customer needs
  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in the industry, including menus, consumer tastes, and event variety
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and management team in developing strategies to maximize upselling opportunities
  •  Identify efficiencies through innovative working practices
  • Analyze consumer purchasing habits to develop menu strategies for continued growth
  • Gather and use customer feedback to improve offerings
  • Reduce spoilage of infrequently used items
  • Build relationships with suppliers to ensure the best price and quality in purchasing food
Food Production Control
  • Monitor food production to ensure the highest hygiene, safety, and quality standards
  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
  • Control food costs by reviewing and approving store requisitions, minimizing wastage
  • Develop and implement stock and food production control policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and food production regulations
  • Oversee logistics of food production to ensure smooth operations across business units
  • Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to reporting, service, and hygiene standards
Management
  • Lead, supervise, coach, and motivate kitchen staff
  • Set performance standards for staff and provide feedback to encourage improvement
  • Review staff levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives
  • Reduce staff turnover by fostering team-building
  • Actively participate in budgeting and control of food costs
  • Maintain statistical and financial records as required
Candidate profile
  • At least 10 years of culinary working experience in the hospitality industry
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate
  • Diploma or Degree holder in culinary science or any other related field
  • Strong passion for the art of food design
  • Creative and innovative passionate culinarian with a great sense of presentation
  • Strong hospitality management and excellent service-oriented mind set
  • Flexible with a 'can do' attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment
  • Willingness to work during odd hours, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to tract expenses and manage a budget
