Accepts all purchased products into the hotel, verifying accuracy of deliver to purchase orders. Maintains storeroom in accordance to standards and rotates stock accordingly. Issues and delivers items to departments in accordance with the requisition policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Assists the Storekeeper in the daily operation of the storeroom.
- Receives and places products in their assigned storeroom location in an organized manner.
- Checks items received against purchase orders to verify accuracy of the order.
- Rotates perishable stock so that all food items are fresh.
- Issues and delivers products from the Storeroom to Departments.
- Checks each item on the requisitions which may involve weighing, counting, verifying each item and checking them against specifications to verify accuracy and approvals for the order
- Conducts inventories as directed.
- Ensures all food, beverage and general merchandise items are listed on inventory lists.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must have some knowledge of food, beverage and printing products.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills to track and receive volumes of deliveries.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and purveyors.
- Office machines: operate calculator/10-key, copier, fax, telephone.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
Higher School Certificate.
EXPERIENCE
One year related experience required.
