We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources Officer who will assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties. Additionally, the incumbent will be the primary liaison between site-based employees and the HR Team.

Job Profile

We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources Officer who will assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties. Additionally, the incumbent will be the primary liaison between site-based employees and the HR Team, ensuring effective communication, employee engagement, and the implementation of HR initiatives

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist the HR Operations Team through the day-to-day HR functions.
  • Act as main point of contact for site-based employees and HR Team.
  • Perform regular site visits to engage and connect with site employees.
  • Coordinate with HR Team and Project Engineers to address employee concerns and issues.
  • Organise and facilitate meetings to address employee concerns and provide updates on HR initiatives.
  • Communicate and share relevant policies and updates to site employees in a timely manner.
  • Submit regular reports to Management related to site activities and concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Team regarding safety protocols on site.
  • Prepare and distribute reports on HR activities and employee feedback.
  • Design and maintain posters and employee corner focused on employee welfare.
  • Manage internal communication platforms such as intranet and notice boards.
  • Any other cognate duties may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Knowledge, Skills & Attitude

  • Familiar with workforce diversity and expatriate management.
  • Very good knowledge of the Workers’ Rights Act 2019 and other statutory obligations.
  • Familiar with employee engagement platforms (surveys, newsletters, intranet platforms).
  • Good presentation and communication skills in Creole, French and English.
  • Ability to converse with expatriates would be an advantage.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work in a team but also independently.
  • Proactive, analytical and data driven.
  • Holder of a valid driving licence to travel to remote projects sites.
