SGS (Mauritius) LTD is hiring a Maintenance officer/ Driver / Floor warden for it's Vehicle examination center.
Job Description:
The Maintenance Officer / Driver / Floor Warden will be responsible for ensuring the general upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of the Vehicle Examination Center. This role also includes performing routine maintenance tasks, supporting logistics and transport needs, and assisting in emergency evacuation coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on-site, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of common areas, restrooms, and operational facilities.
- Drive staff or equipment to and from specified locations when required.
- Ensure that the company vehicles are maintained, cleaned, and serviced on a timely basis.
- Act as the Floor Warden during emergencies, assisting in the safe evacuation of employees and visitors.
- Monitor safety equipment and ensure that emergency exits and routes remain unobstructed.
- Support event setups and operational arrangements within the VEC as required.
- Report any hazardous conditions or incidents to the Operations Manager.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum SC (School Certificate) or equivalent.
- Certificate or experience in general maintenance duties preferred.
- Valid and clean driving license (manual and automatic vehicles).
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Good physical condition and ability to handle basic tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of health & safety procedures.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and available to work on rotational shifts or weekends if necessary.
