Our client in the construction industry is looking for an HR Executive.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for both local and foreign employees, including job postings, shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
- Liaise with labor contractors and staffing agencies for bulk hiring needs.
- Verify documentation such as identity proof, educational certificates, and background checks.
- Conduct induction programs, including company policies, safety protocols, and job expectations.
2. Attendance & Payroll Management
- Monitor attendance and timekeeping systems (manual or biometric).
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including overtime, shift allowances, and deductions.
- Handle wage-related queries and disputes.
3. Labor Law Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Workers' Rights Act and to keep abreast of any amendments.
- Advise Management on important labour relations issues;
- Liaise with government bodies during inspections or audits.
- Renew of licenses (work permits) of foreign employees and ensure contractor compliance.
4. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a liaison between management and workers to resolve grievances.
- Address issues related to discipline, absenteeism, and behavioural concerns and report same to Management.
- Conduct regular site visits to maintain a sound employees / employer relationship.
- Deal with disciplinary cases and ensure that the appropriate actions are taken.
- Deal with termination and redundancy cases.
- Liaise with Trade Unions whenever required.
- Represent the Company before relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Court, Commission for Conciliation and Mediation, etc.
- Plan and execute engagement activities (e.g., recognition programs, sports events, cultural events).
5. Health, Safety & Welfare
- Work with the safety team to ensure workers follow health and safety standards.
- Coordinate regular health check-ups and wellness programs.
- Monitor and promote usage of PPE and other safety gear.
6. Training & Development
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate job-specific training programs.
- Ensure employees receive basic training in areas like machinery handling, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Maintain training records.
7. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain up-to-date employee records both physically and digitally.
- Generate HR reports related to workforce strength, attrition, absenteeism, etc.
8. Handling Exits
- Manage the offboarding process including clearance, final settlement, and exit interviews.
- Provide experience letters and other documentation as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree Human Resource Management
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Exposure to the construction industry is an advantage
- Trustworthy
- Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
