Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience in a similar project or within an NGO will be a definite advantage.
  • Genuine passion for nature conservation and commitment to protecting the environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills – written and verbal – in English and French.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid manual driving licence is a must.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the activities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and solve problems creatively
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach

About the job

The Project Coordinator Events & Activities will work within the MWF Fundraising and Communications team to

  • Organise events & activities

Run the CSR Corporate Activity, the Learning with Nature, Friends of Mauritian Wildlife projects and any other events or activities whose objectives are to fundraise and / or create awareness.

  • Communicate about the projects

Coordinate regular production and publication of Social Media posts, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok relevant to the projects for a regular and efficient promotion of the projects.

  • Perform general administration tasks

Administer the projects activities, liaise with suppliers and collaborators, negotiate partnerships, organising logistics when required and ensure all procedures are followed

  • Produce reports and keeping records

Keep up to date registration of participants, contacting beneficiaries to inform them of events or giving general news of MWF, calling meetings, keeping minutes of meetings, and preparing reports on activities for management and funders.

  • Promote and collect funds

Promote the activities, recruit participants, organise the selling of items, collecting fees, taking/organising payments for activities, liaising with accounts for receipt of funds and to issue receipts, following up on unpaid fees or payments and liaise with MWF accounts to show income and expenditure relevant to activities organised.
