PEOPLE COACH - The Payroll Team Manager will have the skills and ability to demonstrate that he/she can:

YOUR ROLE:
The Payroll Team Manager is responsible for leading and managing team members to achieve the delivery of Payroll service excellence, collaborating with our customers to improve service delivery and exceed customer expectations and can deliver clear messages to senior stakeholders within the company and with our customers.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspire and motivate team members, ensuring are skilled and supported to the appropriate levels necessary to perform their roles effectively by coaching and ensuring the facilities within the business are best used to maintain their team’s development of Payroll, product, and customer service excellence.
- Maximise revenue opportunities and control costs.
- Manage capacity of team to minimize OT.
- Manage performance using Metrics and regular 1-2-1s, personal development plans, listening to and addressing employee concerns, escalating as appropriate.
- Hold regular, structured team meetings encouraging team participation throughout with particular focus on Quality, Engagement, and celebrating success of the team and individuals.
- Create and maintain employee engagement plan to improve eNPS and people retention.
- Delegate both willingly and strategically to ensure development of their team is consistent and to enable them to progress within the organisation.
- Ensure risks, issues and problems are flagged proactively and manage open actions to closure.
- Identify process improvements through process confirmations and audits of SOPs and Payroll Manuals
- Create an environment where teams and colleagues are inspired to embrace change and take ownership.
- Can proactively identify training gaps, utilising the right tools and resource to support.
- Develop and implement procedures that improve efficiency and increase quality of service.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, peers, direct reports, customers, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a quality culture within the team, understand check & controls ensuring that documented processes and procedures are understood and followed ensuring ISAE3402 compliance.
- Build & maintain a relationship with our customers; meeting SLAs, achieving KPIs and delivering service reviews to support customer retention and drive improvements in NPS.
- Actively promote and share the key company strategies and messages from the Senior Leadership Team, delivering and driving them positively and appropriately through their teams
- Deputise as and when necessary for the Head of Payroll Services and Payroll Services Manager
- Assist with recruitment and selection.
- Any other appropriate duties as required.

Essential:
- Knowledge of current UK Payroll Legislation
- Competency in the delivery of quality UK Payroll Services
- Manage performance of people delivering UK Payroll Services
- Coaching / mentoring experience in a customer services environment
- Experience and participation in employee engagement programmes and can influence others positively.
- Flexibility in their approach to client management
- Ability to effectively run meetings and, share and promote company information and strategies.
- Commitment to quality processes and the ability, through their team, to drive efficiency projects to successful conclusions.
- Ability to manage costs against budget.
- Ability to drive employee engagement.
Desirable:
- Commitment to learning, i.e., CIPP, ATT (any relevant qualification)
- Experience of participating in change management programmes
