The Senior Logistics Specialist is accountable for customer service delivery through either air, road or sea freight by securing operators to execute the necessary movement of trades from suppliers to customers’ final destination within the shortest timeframe.
• Lead all the processing from Ex- Works to DDP – post supplier PO confirmation.
• Make timely and appropriate bookings with agreed Logistics Service Providers to execute the necessary movement of trades from suppliers to clients.
• Check for the presence of clauses, constraints, particular provisions and special inspections that modify the standard conditions which can impact on the delivery dates.
• Coordinate with the respective parties so that consignments are insured up to final destination whenever required.
• Once booking is confirmed, prepare packing lists, collection instructions and load sheets.
• Coordinate delivery with suppliers as well as clearing agents for SAD 500/ SADC certificate and clearance at arriving border.
• Follow up with relevant stakeholders to obtain all necessary documentations duly approved by the different authorities.
• Monitor duties and tax clearance at border and inform customers on the actions to be taken on his side in a proactive manner.
• Monitor all consignments’ movement on a daily basis, anticipating any emergency / contingency up to destination.
• Maintain the tracking report upon occurrence to ensure that the information it contains are 100% up-to-date and accurate.
