Senior Engineer/Consultant

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in building services design/construction site environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or other similar software programs.
  • Flexible to work odd hours when required.
  • Valid driving license (manual)
  • Valid passport for overseas travel on project sites.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the Directors of the company.
  • Ability to run company’s projects & delegate works to junior staff.
  • Prepare M&E Design undertaken by the office for different types of projects.
  • Implement drawings in AutoCad done in the office or any other drawing software for electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, or other M&E.
  • Formulate Survey reports/Audits related to works undertaken by the company. Prepare any presentations with relevant information.
  • Prepare Scope of works, Specifications, and tender documentation for various projects.
  • Attending Design meetings with Project Team for Company’s projects.
  • Prepare Minutes of meetings, Bill of Quantities and Budget estimates Site inspection Report, Quality control Report, Cost report & Interim Valuation, snag list & other necessary construction documents.
  • Attend to M&E Coordination Meetings & Site meetings during Construction.
  • Liaise with Project team on site.
  • Comment on Shop Drawings, Material Approval Request, Request for information, etc during implementation of Projects.
  • Check, inspect, witness, test and commission of different M&E equipment installed on site to ensure performance specifications, design criteria and standards are being met.
  • Assist in closing out of project by preparing final valuation certificate, verifying O&M manual and As-made Drawings.
  • Be conversant with required standards such as PPG guidelines, Local Ministry/Authorities guidelines (MOH, WMA, etc), MFRS code, plumbing code, BS, CIBSE, ASHRAE, MS63, BS 7671, etc and implement same on project design.
  • Take ownership of project from design stage to Close out stage.
  • Be responsible for keeping files & folders, hard copy drawings of projects in proper order on your computer and box files.
  • Liaise regularly with other Cad Operators/Trainee Engineers/Junior Engineers in the office to have same updated files of various projects amongst yourselves.
  • Manage the Trainee Engineers & Junior Engineers by checking & vetting their deliverables and guide them through the process in construction industry.
  • Be available for overseas travel, with valid passport, to act as the project representative for company’s sites abroad.
  • Encourage and participate in Teamwork.
  • Carry out any other cognate duties as may be assigned by management.
