The Safety and Health Officer will be responsible for all matters pertaining to Health and Safety at Novengi Ltd. She /He shall develop, implement, and maintain a Health and Safety Framework within the Company and ensure that Novengi Ltd is compliant with the Health and Safety Legislation.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensure implementation of corporate guidelines on Safety, Health and Environmental processes
- Advise and assist Management in planning and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Inspect the workplace for potential hazards identification, assess the risks and report potential hazards.
- Maintain accidents records, and risk assessment reports.
- Review regularly any measure or method used to ensure that occupational safety and health requirements are met.
- Conduct Health & Safety Committees
- Make recommendations to the company on appropriate occupational safety and health training requirements.
- Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments.
- Ensure that all employees are provided with proper PPEs and Uniforms.
- Ensure Risk Assessment is carried out
- Ensure that Health & Safety training is provided to employees.
- Define and review, as and when required, the Health and Safety Policy.
- Advise Management on practicable measures and appropriate techniques to be implemented to minimise or eliminate any risk in any process.
- Ensure that the company is compliant with all operating permits as per the OSHA Act 2005
- Perform Health & Safety inspection and report of Solar Field on a monthly basis
PROFILE
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management
- At least 3 years of practical experience in the Health and Safety field in a dynamic business environment.
- Working experience of Direct Current, Medium Voltage and High Voltage is an advantage.
- Excellent Computer Literacy. (Microsoft Office Packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email and Internet).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and French.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving & ability to determine solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, people and technical skills.
- Excellent mastery of H&S Laws
- A valid driving licence.
