Junior Python Developer

We are seeking a motivated Junior Python Developer to join our dynamic Software Development & ERP team. In this role, you will work closely with senior developers to design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications within our ERP system.

Role: Junior Python Developer

Location: Rose-Hill

Working hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 a.m to 05:00 p.m

Responsibilities:

• End-to-end development of applications using ERP framework

• Develop base and extension modules in-line with business and functional requirements of project

• Bear ownership of development process, its features, and its deliverables to ensure high-quality software is delivered on time and on budget

• Participate in planning of application development. Use of critical thinking and problem-solving skills to advise and refine development scope

• Stay present in feedback loop of development process

• Research and stay up to date with framework releases and updates, third-party libraries, and add-ons

• Report on a regular basis on progress of application development

• Practice AGILE methodology in-line with development timeline

• Collaborate with product development team

• Perform integration and testing before live release. Troubleshoot and debug accordingly

• Provide support to resolve bugs and issues

• Write clean and maintainable code that will assist in scaling the application in the future. Emphasize writing of reusable multi-purpose quality code

• Present the ongoing development at different stages as requested

Key Requirements:

• Python Programming

• XML

• SQL (PostrgreSQL)

Technical Skills:

• Python programming

• Database design and ORM

• SQL queries (PostrgreSQL)

• Understanding of MVC model

• Understanding of SaaS and cloud servers

• Basic networking

• Experience with web controllers, JSON and web-based APIs

Qualifications and experience:

Experience and Education/Certifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or other IT related field is preferred

• Experience in ERP solutions will be highly advantageous
