Freight Agent

We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with the tasks of cargo readiness and transshipment procedures.

     Main Activities:

- Coordination of cargo readiness tasks within his area of responsiblity using available tools

- Submission of reporting, documentation and lists required for a vessel call be it for the company or its partners (accuracy and timeliness is required)

- Execution of Cargo Flow within the area of Responsibility (allocation and transshipment)

- Ensure respect of rules and regulations regarding International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Reefers, OOG and Special cargo

- Reduce/avoid  operational costs and actively participates in improving productivity for his area of responsibility

- Focal point  for Mauritius, Mayotte and Comoros regarding Cargo Readiness and transshipment

Skills and Competencies:

Microsoft office and web based programs

Understanding of shipping industry and network would be an advantage

Understanding of customs procedures (advantage)

Fluency in both English and French

Excellent communication both written and verbal

Interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Analytical and problem solving

Adaptability and tolerance to stress
