The Facilities Lead will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and also have the responsibility of the Housekeeping and Landscaping team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Control and supervision of the use, repair and replacement of all tools, vehicles, maintenance supplies and in-house construction materials.
- Work with contractors to meet requirements and communicates with others regarding pending visits.
- Responsible for tracking, reporting and progress updates of maintenance work orders and projects on a regular basis.
- Preparation and management of a Repairs and Maintenance Schedule that includes the common areas (street lighting, road surfaces), Buildings (Discovery Centre, Admin Office, Restaurant), Equipment (kitchens, offices, back-of house areas) and as required for other business areas.
- Liaise with, and manage the outsourced contractors pertaining to the park including: Fire Fighting, Specialized contractors, painters, etc.
- Be available at all times, or to cause appropriate staff to intervene in maintenance ‘emergencies.
- Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Perform quality maintenance (facilities, Housekeeping and Landscaping) in a cost-effective manner.
- Control costs of projects on a continual basis within approved budgetary controls.
- Budget and establish financial targets and forecasts.
- Ability to supervise a variety of personnel actions and direct a work force to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Communicate regularly with all maintenance teams, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Coordinate, instruct and oversee third-party services to ensure they do their jobs correctly.
- Execute any other cognate duties as may be necessary as required by the employer.
Candidate's Profile:
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronic or any other relevant qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the field of maintenance.
- Considerable knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems, and other equipment and systems of the maintenance trades.
- Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles of mechanical equipment design and fabrication.
- Knowledge in Landscaping and Housekeeping.
