We are looking for an Environmental Officer to join the sustainability team.
Main duties & responsibilities will be:
- Regulatory Compliance. Ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant local regulations. This includes obtaining and renewing necessary permits, licenses, and certifications.
- Environmental Auditing. Conducting environmental audits and assessments to identify areas where the company can improve its environmental performance and compliance.
- Waste Management. Developing, implementing and maintaining waste management programs to reduce, recycle, and properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated during the manufacturing process.
- Air Quality Management. Monitoring and managing air emissions from manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with air quality regulations. This may involve implementing pollution control technologies and practices.
- Water Management. Overseeing water usage and discharge to ensure compliance with water quality regulations. Implementing initiatives to minimize water consumption.
- Energy Conservation. Developing and implementing energy conservation and efficiency programs to reduce the environmental impact and operating costs of the manufacturing facility.
- Environmental Reporting. Preparing and submitting environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required, documenting the company's compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Environmental Training. Providing training and awareness programs for employees to ensure they understand and follow environmental policies and procedures.
- Environmental Impact Assessments. Conducting environmental impact assessments for proposed projects or modifications to existing processes to evaluate and mitigate potential environmental effects.
- Emergency Response. Developing and maintaining emergency response plans for environmental incidents, including spills, leaks, or other accidents, and ensuring that employees are trained to respond appropriately.
- Environmental Research. Keeping up-to-date with environmental trends, new regulations, and emerging technologies that can improve the company's environmental performance.
- Environmental Documentation. Maintaining records and documentation related to environmental activities, permits, and compliance to demonstrate adherence to regulations.
Candidate should:
- Hold a degree in environmental studies (engineering, science), fresh graduates recommended for this post.
- Willing to spend around 50% of the time doing field work
- Have a pragmatic approach when tackling any task
