To take orders and to assist the Chef de Rang in maintaining appealing display, cleanliness and order of the restaurant, and in delivering professional and friendly service to guests in allocated section of restaurant and during various catering functions, as per the Hotel’s standards.

 

Customer Service

  • Welcomes, seats and serves guests as per set service sequence.
  • Converses with guests to obtain feedback and suggestion for improvement.
  • Services food and beverages as per the Hotel’s quality standard of service.
  • Records guests’ comments and complaints in a notepad and then channels this information to the Chef de Rang or Restaurant Supervisor for update of guest’s portfolio.
  • Suggests items on the menu, drinks list and wine list to guests when they are ordering.
  • Answers queries about all items on the restaurant menu, their basic ingredients and method of preparation.
  • Regularly checks if client has any additional needs, and checks for satisfaction.
  • Informs a superior immediately in the case of a guest complaint.

 

Promotion & Direct Up-selling

  • Promotes the different outlets and various theme nights and F&B events by informing clients.
  • Increases sales through making suggestions, proposing additional items (such as drinks, wine, dessert) and making use of suggestive selling techniques.
  • Checks cleanliness and good functioning of furniture, fixtures and equipment in his/her section.
  • Properly handles all materials and equipment to avoid breakage.
  • Reports bad functioning of utilities such as lights, fans and toilets to the Restaurant Manager for repair.
  • Assists in inventories as per instructions.

Material Handling & Inventory

Restaurant Operations

  • Performs mise en place of tables, work stations and trays as per Standard Operating Procedures and as instructed by an immediate superior.
  • Sets up for various facilities or functions.
  • Prepares VIP fruit baskets and other amenities.
  • Removes all dirty cutlery, crockery, fruit baskets, etc… from tables, conference or board rooms, etc… and returns them back to the appropriate place.

 

Orders Taking & Processing

  • Assists the Chef de Rang in taking orders when required.
  • Informs kitchen or bar about orders as soon as any food item or drink is ordered by guests.
  • Double checks tray before serving guest to ensure food and beverages items tally with orders.

 

Billing Procedures

  • Charges all items ordered by guests following established billing procedures.
  • Presents bill to client for settlement.
  • Follows-up on bill pending.
