Cost Accountant

The Cost accountant will help to oversee and analyse cost expenditures and purchases within the organisation. He will review services and goods, record data and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.

• Gather and analyse financial/non-financial data.
• Determine standard cost and investigate variances with actual costs.
• Estimate product costs for existing and new products.
• Forecasts and analyse costs of processes, labour and inventory.
• Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs.
• Create and manage budgets and monitor spending.
• Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts.
• Plan and record variable costs (e.g purchases of raw material and operations costs)
• Suggest cost-reducing or profitable solutions.
• Help management make important decisions based on costs and benefits (e.g investments, market growth, pricing changes)
• Analyse and report profit margins.
• Assisting in month-end and year-end closing.
