Their mission is to provide innovative financial solutions and exceptional customer service to both HNW as well as institiuonal clients across the African continent. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Developer to expand our reach and establish strategic partnerships with banks, brokerage houses, and financial institutions within the region.
Role Overview:
As a Business Developer specializing in multi-asset brokerage, your primary responsibility will be to drive business growth and foster relationships with key stakeholders within the African financial market. You will play a critical role in identifying opportunities, negotiating partnerships, and executing strategic initiatives to increase our market presence and revenue streams. This role requires a deep understanding of financial products and services, as well as the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy focused on targeting banks, brokerage houses, family offices and further financial institutions as well as HNWI across the African continent.
2. Identify and prioritize potential partners and clients based on market analysis, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including senior executives and investment professionals, to position our company as a preferred partner for multi-asset brokerage services.
4. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
5. Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential partners, ensuring favorable terms and mutually beneficial agreements.
6. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics affecting the African financial sector, and leverage this knowledge to inform business strategies.
7. Drive revenue growth by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities and developing tailored solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
8. Track and report on business development activities, including pipeline management, partnership progress, and revenue forecasts, to senior management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Proven track record of success in business development, preferably within the financial services industry and specifically within multi-asset brokerage.
• Deep understanding of financial products and markets, with expertise in Eurobonds, Global Stock Exchange, Deliverable FX, and spot rolling FX.
• Strong network of contacts within the African financial community, including banks, brokerage houses, and institutional investors.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop actionable business plans.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving business objectives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high degree of adaptability and resilience.
