The Lux Collective is hiring for the position of ASSISTANT CHIEF STEWARD for our outlets at TRIBECA MALL at Trianon.

The incumbent will be responsible to:

  • Oversee the smooth and efficient operations of the Stewarding department and its Team Members.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work activities of the Stewarding Team including dishwashing, handling and storage of Kitchen utensils and equipments as well as ensuring the proper use of chemicals and cleaning products.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager , Chef de Cuisine and the outlet managers for the daily needs for equipments to be used in the Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Ensure that all food production areas are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and cleaning schedules are followed and completed at all times.
  • Conduct frequent spot-checks within the Stewarding section in order to monitor compliance with established Health & Safety, food handling, hygiene and sanitation procedures.
  • Develop knowledge and competencies of subordinates by providing on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Actively participate in budget preparation and stock control for the Stewarding operations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a Higher School Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
  • Advanced Certificate in Cleaning Methodology and Food Hygiene or equivalent qualifications.

 

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 9 years of working experience in the hospitality industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience as Assistant Chief Steward in a 4 or 5 star resort.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • High levels of integrity.

  • Proactive, dynamic, flexible and professional attitude.
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Strong team management and leadership skills in order to lead, motivate and develop subordinates.
  • Strong ability to identify problems and provide solutions.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Well versed with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Fully conversant with standard cleaning.
  • Advanced knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French languages.
  • Willingness to work during odd hours, weekends as well as on public holidays.
  • Valid Food Handlers’ Certificate.
  • A clean certificate of character is a must.
