The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the programme of works given by the Site Engineer/Site Manager/Chief Supervisor is implemented and followed on a day to day basis.
Duties:
- To distribute the works to your team members on a daily basis
- To ensure that the programme of works given by the Site Engineer/Site Manager/Chief Supervisor is implemented and followed on a day to day basis
- To follow detailed weekly programmes for all sections of the works
- To closely monitor progress and take necessary measures to ensure progress does not fall behind programme
- To issue requests for information sufficiently in advance to avoid disruptions and delays
- To regular participate in subcontractors’ meetings
- To attend site meetings and report on progress of works for the smooth running of site(s)
- To report to the Site Manager any changes in drawings and/or verbal/written instructions which impact on the progress of works
- To ensure the activities of all subcontractors are well coordinated with the activities of the main contractor
- To ensure that all necessary sign offs are done by all subcontractors at all stages of the works
- To comply with the company’s Quality Assurance System implemented
- To monitor quality of the works for all activities assigned to you on site from the start – including own labour , labour only, domestic, nominated, selected and direct subcontractors
- To ensure that any items of work being paid for satisfies the Company’s standards, the Industry’s standards and the Project’s standards
- To ensure that sampling, testing and quality control, in line with established procedures, are done
- To monitor and optimize the productivity/ output of labour, plant and material resources for the projects and ensure that there is minimum wastage
- To maximize output and optimize costs for projects
- To carry out join measurements with the Construction Surveyor for subcontractors’ payment and claims
- To inform the Site Agent/Site Engineer of all recoverable losses and expenses incurred
- To ensure no avoidable costs are incurred
- To take prompt action to stop any inefficiencies identified
- To make random checks on materials and stock at regular intervals
- To check quantity of materials delivered are as per delivery notes received
- To check quality of materials received are as ordered
- To ensure all materials are requested sufficiently in advance for the smooth running of the site
Qualifications:
Higher School certificate and certificate in construction or equivalent
Experience:
Extensive experience in construction
Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar position
