About Us

As we expand our operations, we are in search of an experienced Senior Manager, Data and AI. We seek an individual with innovative ideas and strategic prowess, fostering an environment of collaboration and creativity. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to distill business values and goals into actionable roadmaps, refine backlogs, and ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

 

Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Data and AI, will contribute to defining and implementing data and AI strategies for our Major Service Centre Indian Ocean Operations (MSC IOO). The incumbent will craft and enforce policies for effective data management, devise techniques for quality data collection, implement secure procedures for data handling and analysis, establish data sharing rules, and support others in the daily use of data systems. Furthermore, they will monitor and analyse information and data systems, troubleshoot complex data-related problems, and uphold data security and integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide, coach, and manage several operations managers.
  • Lead and manage teams of analysts, developers, and engineers.
  • Drive decision-making processes and actively participate in their implementation.
  • Lead projects on data-driven storytelling and responsible AI through analytics, dashboards, and data visualisation.
  • Assist in project planning and prioritisation, as well as backlog processing.
  • Implement strong governance to optimise activities.
  • Identify and lead people development initiatives.
  • Cultivate a cooperative work environment, promoting collective engagement.
  • Take ownership of strategy and provide meaning to teams.
  • Foster performance within the scope of activity and contribute to environmental performance.
  • Transition and implement activities at MSC IOO sites.
  • Lead release plans and set delivery expectations for new products and functionalities.
  • Resolve product-related issues and make decisions to maintain business deliverable commitments.
  • Act as a facilitator or mediator in high-stakes situations.
  • Manage crises and integrate them into everyday actions and decisions.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Data & Analytics, BI, AI, and automation.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing multiple teams.
  • University degree in an IT-related field.
  • Deep understanding of team management, people management, stakeholder management, and risk management.
  • Proficient in JIRA and ticketing systems.
