Answers room service telephone and takes guest orders accurately in a helpful, friendly, courteous and professional manner to ensure total guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Promptly answer Room Service calls, announce any specials, promote menu items and answer questions regarding preparation methods.
Document orders, repeat items back to guests to ensure accuracy and quote expected arrival time with speed and accuracy.
Input order information into system (Micros) allowing Kitchen team to begin preparation, note any special requests clearly. Give Room Service Waiter hard copy of check to be delivered with order
Process payment for orders upon return of Room Service Waiter
Complies with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payment, check total verification and tip disbursement
Controls and monitors the order time, delivery time and tray pick up time in room service.
Receives food and drink orders from the guest and relaying these orders to the Waiter, following the standard operating procedures established for room service.
Responsible for requesting and maintaining the par stock for guest supplies and office supplies in room service area.
Ensure that all operational equipment is use to its appropriate function and well maintained.
Practices suggestive selling to boost room service sales.
Any other cognate duties that may be assigned to you by your superior.
REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards.
Knowledge of all menu items and accompaniments.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Basic knowledge of the English and French languages.
Ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
