Laundry/Linen Attendant

Under the general direction of the Linen Shift Leader or designate, and within the limits of established Inter Continental Hotels Group brand and hotel policies and procedures, responsible for receiving, sorting, storing and issuing of linen and uniforms.

•  Inspects and clean laundry carts.
• Folds laundry and places in appropriate storage.
• Load washers with soap and other additives.
• Set washer and dryer settings appropriately for the load.
• Loads and unloads machines.
• Spot cleans linen, etc., as needed.
• Inspects all laundry for wear and removes worn articles.
• Communicates issues, concerns, complaints, compliments, and suggestions to the management of the organization 
• Receive, sort, count, store and issue all F & B and room linen according to established procedures.
• Assist in inventory taking.
• Assist in repairing linen.
• Report damages and loss of linen to supervisor.
• Maintain linen room and equipment in proper state of cleanliness and repair.
• Maintain records of new linen, discarded linen and issues.
• Comply with Hotel’s health, safety and hygiene policy and adhere to conduct personal grooming and hygiene standards.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the immediate Superior / Head of Department from time to time.
