The Communications Assistant is responsible for supporting the communications efforts of the MCCI and assisting in the creation and implementation of communication strategies to engage the MCCI members and other stakeholders.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Assisting in the development and execution of communication plans and strategies.
  • Creating and editing content for various communication channels.
  • Assisting with the creation and dissemination of communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, social media posts, and website content.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications campaigns and strategies.
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings, events, and press conferences.
  • Responding to inquiries and requests for information from external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and updating contact lists and databases.
  • Conducting research and gathering information to support communication efforts.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to support promotional events.
  • Providing general administrative support to the communications department, such as scheduling meetings, and filing documents.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Communication or any related field.
  • At least 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar position.

 

Skills and other requisites:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Be able to work after office hours and on weekends and public holidays.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Proactive, able to work under pressure and willing to learn and accept feedback.
