The candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer and supervise the functioning of the Finance & Accounting Department to help achieve the departmental and corporate objectives set by Management, the Board and the Group
Responsibilities:
- To prepare & consolidate monthly Management Key Financial and Quarterly Group Financial reports
- To support the CEO & CFO in the preparation of Annual Budget and monitoring of budgeted expenses
- To ensure timely recording of accounting and financial data in an orderly and transparent manner in line with relevant Laws and Regulations of Republic of Mauritius
- To prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- To timely and accurately prepare, pay and submit statutory returns to FSC, NPF & MRA
- To provide support to the Credit Controller for monitoring the outstanding premiums
- To prepare monthly Trial Balance and Balance Sheet
- To calculate reinsurance premiums & commissions and prepare quarterly statements
- To implement good internal control system in line with the group policy
- To supervise timely implementation of accounting system
- Any cognate duties
Profile:
- Qualified with a recognised Professional Accountancy Organization
- Minimum of 3 years’ (experience in a financial sector would constitute an advantage)
- Knowledge in IFRS
- Knowledge in Insurance Accounting is an advantage but not compulsory
- Computer literate in accounting system such as Oracle Financials and ACCPAC
- Knowledge in advance excel
- Good communication and team management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and a clear positive attitude of “WE CAN ACHIEVE NO MATTER WHAT”
- Proven track record of examplary code of conduct and ethical standards
