RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for providing, updating, and maintaining reports needed for tracking of all inbound shipments
2. Provide support for tracking shipments and communicate with clients about the progress of purchase order
3. Check accuracy of invoices, packing lists and other imports documents
4. Liaise with customs broker and freight forwarders for clearance of goods.
5. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
6. All other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
1. Higher School Certificate. A certificate in imports logistics will be an advantage.
2. Excellent organizational skills handling files and information, time management, and ability to meet deadlines
3. Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word
4. General familiarity with commercial invoice, packing lists, house bill of ladings, master bill of ladings.
5. Ability to work independently and as a team player, prioritize, and multitask
6. Documentation and accurate data entry skills, Dependability.
7. 2-3 years of experience preferred.
8. Customer service oriented and problem solving skills with ability to operate in a fast pace, multi-tasking environment
9. Excellent written and communication skills, able to communicate with all levels, buyers, vendors and carriers
10. General knowledge of various modes of transportation
11. Ability to work odd hours
JOB FUNCTIONS
The Import Clerk will assist with daily functions of the Imports Department, including data entry, shipment tracking, file organization, and communication with internal personnel with the opportunity to learn all aspects of freight forwarding and logistics. They will be responsible for updating and maintaining reports with a focus in data completion and data quality necessary.
