BDO IT Consulting Ltd is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to handle end-to-end business analysis requirements gathering, process modeling, stakeholder engagement, and documentation while collaborating with QA/Testing to ensure requirements are testable and deliver high-quality results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core BA Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation using interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis.
- Analyse and document business requirements, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.
- Model as-is and to-be business processes, workflows, and data flows, and identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare clear and structured artefacts such as BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Support prioritisation of requirements with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and project managers.
- Manage requirements traceability and change control, ensuring impacts are understood and documented.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, walkthroughs, and demos, ensuring alignment and shared understanding.
BA + Testing / QA Collaboration
- Translate business and functional requirements into testing scope, test conditions, and UAT scenarios.
- Work with Test Leads to ensure test coverage aligns with business priorities and risks.
- Support UAT planning and execution, including UAT scenarios, sign-off criteria, and defect triage from a business perspective.
- Help define and standardise templates (requirements, test scope, UAT sign-off, etc.) within the Software Testing capability.
- Contribute to reporting for clients and internal stakeholders (status, risks, issues, outcomes).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst (not just QA), ideally in software projects or application implementations.
Requirements gathering and documentation
Process mapping (as-is / to-be)
Writing functional specs / user stories and acceptance criteria
Working with cross-functional teams (business, dev, QA, PMO)
- Experience in Agile / Scrum environments (backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, etc.)
- Exposure to test management tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Experience in domains such as insurance, banking, ERP/CRM, HR, or enterprise applications.
- Understanding of core testing concepts (functional, regression, UAT, basic non-functional).
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex topics in a clear, simple way.
- Strong communicator, with a consultative and structured approach.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with business users, SMEs, and leadership.
- Detail-oriented but able to keep sight of the business outcome.
- Comfortable working in a new capability and contributing to frameworks, templates, and ways of working.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work with minimal supervision.
