Overall Purpose:
The Accounts Manager will:
• Ensures strong accounting and reporting of LEC Ltee, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing sound financial advice to the management team.
• Preparation of financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, financial statements, as well as making appropriate recommendations.
• Monitor and provide financial analysis and support to the GCFO’s /GDCFO on business transactions and departmental performance.
Main Responsibilities
• Prepare and manage all the accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and interpretation of operating financial data of LEC Ltee;
• Ensure all reporting are prepared and communicated to reporting line on a timely basis and ensure figures are complete and accurate
• Managing teams to co-ordinate and deliver on internal and external reporting requirements and ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.
• Take ownership of the audit assignment by liaising with the external auditor, providing them the required information on a timely basis and preparation of the financial statements.
• Ensure that accounts are prepared taking into consideration all updated accounting standard
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of budgets and financial reporting.
• Ensures that all financial statements are complete, accurate and are compliant to the generally accepted accounting principles and any industry standards that apply to the industry the company is involved.
• Monitoring and enhancing compliance controls, structures, and automated processes to ensure effective management of the company’s overall compliance and financial controls are effective and being appropriately applied.
• Assist in coordinating the annual audit engagement with both the internal and external auditors, ensuring audit requirements are met in a timely manner.
• Lead, plan, co-ordinate and manage the work of LEC Ltee accounting team, including the development of their skills & knowledge of team members
Responsible to efficiently perform any other related duties as requested by the head of department.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• ACCA Qualified/ ACA
• At least 5 years of experience with a proven strong financial and technical accounting background
• Experience in auditing would be an advantage
