Cabinet Maker (2547-CABMAK)

Our client in the sales sector is seeking to recruit a Cabinet Maker who will report to the Workshop Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and assemble wooden articles or components of articles such as cabinets, store fixtures and other high-grade furniture.
• Study blueprints/cutting lists/diagrams to determine dimensions of article to be produced.
• Ensure adequacy of material provided for production.
• Cut and shape parts from boards and trim component parts to ensure snug fit.
• Measure or verify dimensions and distances and check quality and fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Operate machines used in the trade.
• Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units.
• Trim, sand and scrape surfaces to prepare articles for finishing.
• Install finished furniture and articles.
• Carry out any cognate duty as may be assigned.

Profile:

• NTC 3, 2 or 1 or equivalent experience and knowledge.
• Fully literate.
• At least 5 years experience.
• Knowledge and skill in operation of tools and machines used in the trade.
• Precise and meticulous.
• Trustworthy and reliable.
• Hardworking, responsible and disciplined.
