Reporting to the Fundraising and Communications Manager, the Fundraising Executive will drive ecotourism revenue, strengthen brand presence, and promote conservation values within the hospitality sector. The role focuses on fundraising, promotional campaigns, stakeholder engagement and partnership-building in that sector. Strong communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and a passion for conservation are essential.

About the job
The Fundraising Executive will work within the MWF Fundraising and Communications team, in close collaboration with the Ecotourism Department, to:
- Develop and implement annual promotional, fundraising, and communication strategies.
- Build and maintain partnerships with hotels, tour operators, tourism networks, and related stakeholders.
- Promote support for the organisation to obtain Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding.
- Promote ecotourism visits and other fundraising initiatives in that sector.
- Collaborate closely with the communications Officer to create engaging content tailored for the tourism and hospitality sector.
- Support the Fundraising and Communications team in campaign planning and execution.
- Monitor performance, track fundraising progress, and prepare regular reports.
- Collaborate closely with the Ecotour Manager and Fundraising Manager to align marketing and fundraising strategies.
- Ensure targets are achieved and KPIs are regularly monitored and reported.
Requirements:
- Outgoing personality to connect and communicate effectively
- A minimum of HSC is required with +5 years relevant working experience
- Valid car driving license
- Comfortable driving long distances across Mauritius.
- Proficient in English, French (written and spoken).
- Passionate about conservation and sustainable tourism.
We will also be looking for:
- Experience in a related area of work
- Degree in Sales, Marketing or tourism or any equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of the tourism and hospitality sector in Mauritius, with established networks.
- Proven organisational skills in setting up effective related activities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and meet performance targets.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative promotional ideas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and social media platforms.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours.
- Physically fit to undertake outdoor activities when required.
- Comfortable travelling by boat.
